A Message From Our Team

I hope that this message finds you and your family well during this unsure time as we continue to navigate our way through the COVID-19 pandemic. We here at the Indian Oasis Middle & High School would like to extend a huge welcome to our new and returning students and families for the 2020-2021 school year! We would also like to inform you of the changes that will be in place as we begin our year with COVID-19 safety precautions in place.

The 2020-2021 school year is set to begin on August 3, 2020, and will be 100% virtual. Students will be able to log into Edgenuity to access their courses on Monday, August 3, 2020. School hours will be Monday-Thursday 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Letters are being mailed out informing all students and their families of homeroom assignments. Homeroom teachers will be reaching out to their assigned students beginning on August 3, 2020. Additionally, all teachers will share their schedule of availability for virtual support for each subject and electives on the first day of school.

For the 2020-2021 school year, IOMS/IOHS teachers and staff will be using Google Classrooms as a means of sharing information with our students and families and to assist in the virtual teaching of our students and families. All staff’s contact information, along with a link to each Google Classroom, is listed on our Teachers and Staff page

Teachers will be providing support and assistance with coursework via Google Meet, Zoom, FaceTime/ other forms of video chat, text/ messenger, email, and/or through phone calls.

The BUSD Board and Administration team will continue to meet regularly to discuss when students will be allowed to attend school in-person safely. This decision will also be influenced by any decisions made by Governor Ducey, The Nation, Tohono O’Odham Healthcare and other Arizona educational officials.

We understand that this is a difficult and uncertain time, but the IOMS/IOHS team is still as dedicated as ever to our students. While we miss our students dearly, we understand that we begin our school year virtually to ensure we are doing our part in keeping students and their families safe. We look forward to a successful, albeit very different, school year and thank you for your continued support for our campus and the work we do. More than ever, our students need and will only succeed with the support and encouragement of their families and community. Thank you for your help in keeping our students invested in their education and future.
